A Mount Batten Tower Wedding

Gail and Joe married in April at Mount Batten Tower. It was the first time I had been to the tower and I was excited to get to know the place. I was booked for three hours coverage so that the couple could have professional photos of their ceremony, some group photos and then some special photos of just the two of them afterwards.

There is a restriction on how many people are allowed inside the tower at one time, so Gail and Joe hired a children’s entertainer known as Emazdad to keep the kids happy outside while the ceremony was taking place. The ceremony started off with laughter as with the Bride’s dad wandered down the aisle without his daughter - oops! It was such a beautiful ceremony - inside the tower is very atmospheric and romantic as you can see from the photos here…

After the ceremony, we were permitted to go to the top of the tower for some photos - the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen came up with us for a little bit. It is a shame because although it was a warm day, it was very overcast and it was also a little windy, as you can see from the Bridesmaids hair. None the less it was lovely to be able to get some photos up at the top. We didn’t have very long up there because the rest of the guests were patiently waiting at the bottom with confetti.

Next, we had some group photos at the bottom of the tower. I don’t normally upload group photos but here’s a few just to give you an idea…

When the group photos were finished, the guests headed back down the hill for refreshments at The Ocean Room while we stayed for some Bride & Groom photos…

I still had a little bit of time left on the clock, so I joined the couple and their guests in the Ocean Room for a bit. Some guests had some photo requests, so I did those out on a balcony with the sea view in the background. Also, check out these cool trainers that the Bride and Bridesmaid wore - comfy shoes are definitely needed for a wedding at Mount Batten Tower!
