I’m so pleased that I’ve finally found the time to blog about this gorgeous wedding at St Mellion Estate. It was an incredible day to be a part of with so many hilarious and emotional moments for me to capture. The whole day took place at St Mellion Estate in Cornwall which is a golf club, hotel and spa.

The Bride & Groom were both given conference rooms to get ready in at the venue. This meant that they had lots of space but the best part was that their rooms were situated one above the other and I was able to go outside and photograph them both on their balconies. It was so sweet because they could hear each other but not see each other and when they shouted ‘I love you’, that was the first tear jerker moment of the day.

I loved the contrast between the two rooms for example the Bride and her Bridesmaids wanted a lovely photo of them on the balcony, showing off their dressing gowns and looking out to the view. Then I popped downstairs and the Groom and his Groomsmen wanted the same but in their pants and socks. I knew early in that it was going to be a fun wedding!

When I approached the ceremony area, the Bride’s brother was nervously waiting outside to see his sister for the first time as a Bride. It was a moment that I wanted to capture for them both, so I asked him to keep his back turned until she was in position. It was such an emotional moment that I ended up going into the ceremony crying and I had to quickly pull myself together.

After a little bit of time mingling with their guests, the Bride & Groom headed out with me on golf buggies (supervised by a member of staff of course) for some special photos as newly weds. As with all weddings, we were limited with time for these photos - we still had the group photos to do and we needed to be done in time for the sit down meal. But due to a downpour of rain, we actually headed back indoors sooner than planned. It’s a shame that we didn’t get longer outside because the grounds around St Mellion are absolutely gorgeous and we would have liked to have visited at least one more location. None the less, we got some lovely photos and avoided getting rained on, which is always a bonus.

The rain was thankfully just a passing shower and we were able to do the group photos outside. I had a list of 16 group photos (I normally recommend 10 to 15 so it was quite a lot to get through) but we made sure we had the time to do them all and had it all thoroughly planned out. Here are just a few from the group photos followed by an EPIC confetti throw! There was so much confetti on the Bride’s dress train that we were able to have a second confetti throw - notice how the Groom is making sure no-one lifts the Bride’s dress up too high - such a gent!

The wedding reception was held in a different room and was beautifully decorated. First we had the speeches, which were emotional and hilarious in equal measure…

After the meal, we were all lucky enough to see this stunning double rainbow! Then the evening kicked off with the cake cut and the dancing commenced. I feel like I should apologise to you in advance for the nudity you will see in this next section - the party got pretty wild!
