A pre shoot at Edgcumbe.

When discussing where Stephanie and Daniel wanted to have their pre-shoot, they mentioned that they’d like beach and woodlands if possible. So I suggested Edgcumbe as there’s a little bit of everything there. The couple didn’t know Edgcumbe so it was lovely to be able to introduce them to such a fantastic place. Unfortunately the parking at Edgcumbe only accepted change and we didn’t have many coins between us, so we only had one hour to get our photos done and get back to the car park. Pre shoots are normally around an hour long, so it was doable but it would have been nice to have an extra half an hour so that we didn’t have to rush from location to location around the park. It felt a bit like a wedding day, as I often have a time limit to get the couple back to the venue for their meal. It’s a pressure I am used to but it would have been nice to have taken things at a slower pace and I’m sure Stephanie and Daniel would have loved to stay at Edgcumbe a little longer after the shoot and further explore the park.

Stephanie and Daniel were very comfortable in front of the camera from the start, and didn’t seem to mind that there were lots of members of the public around. This helped us to work quite quickly and capture a good amount of photos in various locations around the park. It was lovely to get to know each other a bit before their wedding which will be held at Polhawn Fort in July. I’m really looking forward to capturing a wedding at the Fort in summer as I’ve currently only photographed weddings there in the winter. More importantly though, I’m looking forward to seeing this fantastic couple say their vows to each other and celebrate their love together on what is going to be a very special day.
