First Pre Shoot of 2022!

Living in Devon you may think you know Dartmoor, but due to how vast it is there’s always a new place to explore. I’m thankful for Charlotte and Charlie for introducing me to this gorgeous part of Dartmoor Haytor Rocks. I can’t deny, I did really struggle to get to the top, it’s much steeper than it looks from the bottom and it probably doesn’t help that I was trying to have a conversation while walking. But it was very much worth the journey. Breath-taking views awaited us at the top and we were lucky to have blue skies and fluffy white clouds (which I call Simpsons clouds) which made the sky as pretty as the view beneath it.

Charlotte and Charlie would describe themselves as people who don’t feel overly comfortable posing in front of camera - they prefer the natural photos and I agree with them that the natural photos are the best! With a wedding there are natural moments everywhere for me to capture and so guidance from myself is not required for the majority of the day. But with a pre wedding photo shoot like this the moments are rarely natural. There’s a lot of guidance required on my part to suggest where to stand, how to stand and what to do etc. We have to make the moments happen at a pre shoot and make them look as natural as possible. It’s great practise for Charlotte and Charlie’s wedding day because there will be 20 mins or so where we will utilise their venue to get some special photos of just the two of them as husband and wife. It’s also a great way for us to get to know each other a bit before the wedding.

Here is a small selection of photos from the shoot. They have received 51 individual photos and a black and white copy of each photo making a total of 102 photos altogether. All photos have been loaded in high resolution to their very own private online gallery.
