I’ve called this blog ‘Saving the day at Polhawn Fort’ because I actually wasn’t booked to photograph this wedding until five days before it was due to happen. The couple were unfortunately let down by the photographer they initially booked and I was lucky enough to be recommended to them to step in at short notice. We had just enough time to communicate with each other via email so that I could find out what group photos they wanted and how they’d like their day to be captured. They booked me for three hours coverage so that I could cover the all important ceremony, group photos, photos of just the newly weds and then the speeches before the meal. I arrived a little early so that I could introduce myself to the couple as I wanted them to be reassured that their day would be captured and they need not worry about a thing. I feel so incredibly lucky to have been available for this lovely couple - they are beautiful people. I loved meeting them, watching them marry, witnessing their love for each other and having the honour of documenting their important day for them both.

Amy and Jack wrote me a beautiful review after they received all of their photos which I have included here in this blog (scroll down). And here is a small selection of photos from the three hours that I spent with them…

Leah came highly recommended and was extremely accommodating after a previous photographer let us down at a very late stage. From Leah’s first email we could see how efficient and professional she was. Leah was extremely thorough to ensure that we would get everything that we wanted out of the day. This attention to detail made the day run smoothly and all our guests were thought about carefully in Leah’s planning.
On the day of the wedding, Leah arrived early to introduce herself and finalise the plan with us. Instantly, her personality made us feel as if we had another guest at our wedding rather than a photographer. She fit so naturally into the day and made us and our guests feel at ease.
Leah ordered our photographs to ensure that she took consideration of our guests specific needs and was efficient in structuring the photographs to ensure my husband and I had time to interact with our guests. Leah was extremely good with time keeping and helped to organise the guests so that they were ready for their photographs. Leah was also brilliant with our dogs and helped to capture lovely photographs of them throughout the day.
Leah kept in regular contact after the wedding to update us on the progress of our photographs. They were easy for us to access and every photograph was of an extremely high standard, we love every one. Due to the strong wind on the day Leah took multiple shots of each moment. As a result, the problems that the wind created were not evident in the final photographs that we received.
Once all of the editing was complete, Leah sent us our photographs in a lovely engraved wooden box, including small prints, disks and an engraved memory stick. The personalised note was such a lovely touch! This offered us peace of mind that we have multiple copies of our special day. Most importantly is a wonderful keepsake.
We wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to capture our day. Leah’s price list was also extremely reasonable for the service that she offers. She is clearly passionate about her work and wanting to provide the best for her customers. We would highly recommend Leah.
