I’m so excited to share this amazing wedding with you from last year at Wonwood Barton in Devon.
I knew from this couple’s first enquiry, that they were the perfect clients for me…

“We're huge foodies, outdoorsy people and not particularly traditional wedding-wise. We like to think we're laid back in terms of the wedding day... as long as everyone has fun, is fed and is dancing… and we have that captured, that's a success. Looking for a fun and friendly photographer we click with, that isn't so much focused on 'formal' shots particularly as that's not our style.”

Morning Prep

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t ticking all the boxes for the outdoor ceremony that Beth and Dom had planned for. But luckily, Wonwood Barton has a beautiful indoor space that’s also licenced for ceremonies.
It’s a space that needs very little decoration, as it looks gorgeous as it is. But I absolutely loved their mismatch chair sashes and florals.

The Ceremony

Confetti and Candids

TOP TIP…

Always leave 15 minutes or so after your ceremony (or confetti exit) just to be with your guests and soak in that ‘just married feeling’.

Your guests will be excited, emotional, and they’ll want to come over, hug you, and say hello. Some of them you won’t have seen in months (or even years).

Those Just Married vibes…

Usually, group photos are done before portraits - but I think we were a bit concerned about the weather (we’d had a few light showers on and off throughout the day). So we thought it was best to seize the moment and go and get some special photos of the newly weds first.

Food and Group Photos!

The indoor space was changed over, for the wedding breakfast.
The paella’s were cooking up nicely.
We took a few group photos in the courtyard.
And of course, lots more candids.

Speech! Speech! Speech!

Special Guests…

Did I forget to mention that the Bride and Groom had two beautiful rescue dogs, who came out and joined us?

Then, those party vibes started to build…

There was no cake cut or first dance at this wedding, so when the speeches were done, so were the formalities.
Strict timelines were also all behind us - I was able to just roam around the venue, searching for real moments. Capturing everything from the faces people make after they’ve had a shot, to the ties going on heads, to the joy of the burgers and the dance floor beginning to warm up…

And it was some party…
